The City just went through a complete evaluation of the property assessments. How will the new assessment affect how much I pay in property taxes?

A reevaluation of property values does not automatically change the total amount of taxes collected by a municipality.  It redistributes the existing tax burden among property owners based on updated market values. 

 

The amount of money needed by taxing jurisdictions (City, School, County, and Nicolet) is the main factor of the overall property tax rate, not the property values themselves.
